I have been to Las Vegas four times in the past three years, and I wouldn't forgive myself if I didn't visit Red Rock Canyon Conservation Area, located only a few minutes west of The Strip. With its impressive geology of red sandstone and craggy peaks that ascend more than 3000 ft from the desert floor, it is a very photogenic place, especially when the early golden light of sunrise hits the mountain sides!
In the case of this photograph, I had set my alarm at 5:00 AM so it would give me ample time to drive from my hotel, shoot some stars, and then head to this spot to wait for the beautiful sunrise light.
Please admire the landscape and hope you can imagine you are standing on the desert floor!
